In this design the grasshopper sits quietly on a twig, its antennae tuned to the environment around it. The head comprises two large black eyes and mandibles for tearing food. Its green wings rest along its abdomen supported by two pairs of legs, the rear pair stronger than the front pair to assist in leaping.
The grasshopper plays a symbolic role in many cultures. In China they were considered omens of long life, happiness, luck and wealth, and were often kept as family pets. Even if you can't keep a grasshopper as a pet the symbolic gesture of owning one this way might just bring you luck and fortune.
